An Affair to Remember

Well I am going to do a little wedding post. I have yet to do a big review of the shin-dig. It was hands down one of my best days, with one downside...no voice. The week before was horrible. It was bad. We had so much to do and I was fighting a cold. Matt was crabby, I was crabby, and everyone drove us nuts. Friday we started to relax and Saturday was worth it. I slept fine the night before, but I woke up hoarse. My cold/running around had finally taken its toll and I knew I was going to be fighting to talk all day... and that really sucked and the more I think about it in hindsight it makes me so angry.. but we made do!

Last Minute Primping.. Can you guys come get me ready everyday?

I went to get my hair done and Matt's mom was there with a gift from Matt. You see Matt and I write each other funny cards for holidays, birthdays, big events etc. For those of you who think I am a good blogger, you have not received a card from Matt. He is funny, sincere, and weird all at the same time. Here is an excerpt from my card, "I will always love you like I did when we first met, but as we have grown inseparable, I find I love you more because I can't function without you. I can't seem to remember to set the alarm clock at night, because I fall asleep everywhere, so I need you for that especially. Plus I don't understand how to measure spices and when to throw out cheese, eggs, etc.. I just don't understand those things.." Like I said sweet, sincere, funny, and weird..that is Matt. (he will be mad I shared, but I don't care)

Emo Wedding Picture

Getting ready was the most fun. I can see how celebrities get used to having a team to make them pretty all the time, it was awesome. It was fun to be with my dearest friends and family before the big ceremony. It just went so fast. Matt and I saw each other before the ceremony and took some pictures. And I am glad we did it that way so we could have a little face time before the wedding. I was fine until about 30 minutes before, then I wanted to freak. 5 minutes before I was standing in the back of the church, everyone else was getting lined up and I looked at Blenner, and go,"What the F am I doing, I am getting married in 5 minutes!" This wasn't a oh shit I don't want to get married, this was a where the hell did the last 25 years go?! Wasn't it yesterday we were playing barbies, noon league, and going to football games? Jame just laughed, and next thing I new I was at the end of the aisle. Matt and I spent the entire mass chatting to each other about everything. How happy we were, our funny families, the hawks, and how jacked we were to party! (We kind of do that during regular mass too.) And then it was over. The bag piper and drummer came out and it was time to party.

The Wedding Party

We had a fabulous reception. We rode around on a trolley with our wedding party, and stopped to take some pics. The reception was awesome. The food was good, the booze was flowing, and everyone was dancing and having a good time. Chris (Matt's brother) had one of the funniest speeches I have heard in a long time. Chris unfortunately took the role of annoying older brother I never had too easily. He finds something I said or did and makes fun of me for months. He is constantly tricking me into making an ass out of myself (which I do fine by myself, thank you!) and he gets me in trouble because he makes me laugh at inappropriate times or goats me into saying things I should keep to myself.. (well, I like to blame him for that). But his speech was awesome, and when I get the DVD I think I need to post it.. because he was that funny.

The rest of the night was a blur. It went by so fast! We ate, we drank, we danced, we said hi to a few people and then it was 2am. Matt and I were the last to leave our reception. We made sure our fellow Twin Cities Friends got safe rides home, and then Lauren Meyer, Matt and I piled into dad's dirty truck and she gave us a ride to The Inn, a bed and breakfast in Battle Creek. Yes, I stayed in Battle Creek on my wedding night, but that B&B is very nice and adorable! I suggest you visit there if you haven't been. And No we did not get a picture of Lauren, Matt and I piled three to the front in the truck..true small town wedding!

Matt told me the next day that he didn't think there was anyway the work we did the week before would be worth it. He thought there is no way it could be that much fun that he wouldn't care he was bossed around for a week and told to move/carry tables, chairs, flowers, candles, gifts etc.. But he said he was wrong, it was the second best day ever, next to the night we met of course.(what a suck-up)But he was right, it was. We had our favorite people with us, and my dad sure does know how to throw a party! So thanks to you all who helped make our day, it was fun.. And Mom and Dad there is no way to repay you, nor will we! So now we are on to our big kid life.. which includes us dressing up and going out for Halloween like we are 12..but I will post the pictures later this week... I am slightly sick from eating a million peanut butter cups...

Mo, I have been patiently waiting for this update, but refused to be a blogger stalker. I was waiting for an update on my blog to tell me you had posted and the darn thing didn't! I got on here today to write a nasty note saying "honeymoon is over, I WANT PICTURES!" and of course here they were. It looks like the PERFECT day. I couldn't be happier for you. The picture with the veil is stunning. I can't wait to see all of you at Christmas!

I know it was your wedding but we(me and the girls) had an absolutely fabulous time. You two were so beautiful(okay Matt, you were handsome) and the day turned out quite nice after a rather dreary week. Thanks again for including us in your day. Cosgrove weddings are about the only time I get to see my family. You are correct in one thing, it went by way to fast! Please come visit us!!!
