Don't Hate, Decorate

I promised the Kajewski Decorating Post a long time ago and I am just getting around to it. My New Years resolution is to stop making promises I cannot keep. I promise I will quit falling through.. Damn it, I did it again. Well basically I sexed up my tree a bit. We don't have a lot of ornaments, but this year Matt got two "Fancy Dr. Swells" Ornaments to start our collection. Plus I hit up the half off sale at Jesus Decorates (aka Hobby Lobby) and got some of those picks to put in the tree and I made a mad wreath..

O Kajewski Tree

Yeah I made a wreath.. no big deal

Matt and I celebrated our Christmas the weekend before. We had cocktails, gifts, and sushi. Just like the Three Wise Men. We have done a good job with making "our" own traditions. Like Walgreens only stockings, Matt making weird faces at the sweaters he opens, me faking enthusiasm over my gifts.. jk. I LOVE all my gifts. Matt is a great gift giver. Though I kicked ass at his stocking this year. Can you say What What!

See Bloggers, I get him that great stocking and this is what he does to me...

Overall we had a great Christmas with the two of us. I got a fancy jewelry armoire, a big ipod, perfume and my Walgreens stocking. He got clothes, outdoor running gear and a razor. Basically Santa was good to us.

Matt's obligatory, thanks, a sweater picture.

But not to be out done by his, Sweet, Walgreens loot!

Next up, Cosgrove Christmas Recap... to be followed by Kajewski Christmas we are having this weekend, and After all of that, you will get a blog post of us sleeping and walking around like Zombies. We have been on the weekend move since the weekend of my Birthday November 18, and we are dying! But we will just keep eating and drinking if we have to, It is what our founding fathers intended, and Matt and I are Americans.. Merry Christmas

27 Dresses, 27lbs, 27 Drinks...I need a 27 step Program..

Well I thought I would blog about my 27th Birthday Weekend and the following Thanksgiving Weekend. I was born at 4:34 P.M. On November 18, 1983, and I know what you are thinking, She was born during Oprah? Yes, yes I was. We all know I love the O. I spent my birthday working and eating.. Matt and I went out for Italian.. which is my favorite! Matt also undertook the daunting task of going out and buying me a cake... never mind my carrot cake process I undertake every April... (Jk he is a great cake buyer!)

Check it out.. still got it... ignore my blue Scrunchie, I love it and only wear it at home. I have forgotten it is is in my hair and worn it out before. When I realize I have it in, I pretend I am feverish and disoriented so people don't judge me. Works. Every. Time.

It just happened to work out, that the weekend of my Birthday was a great weekend for the UNI girls to get together. Since I am in the middle of Des Moines, KC, Sioux Falls and Sioux City, all the ladies came to our place. We shopped, drank, and ate. Here is a picture of us at Ash's Wedding from August, which I somehow forgot to blog about, but look at how hot we are!!

Us at Ash's Wedding (being the Wildest Cats aka PANTHERS... She was a BEAUTIFUL Bride.. But really we all have been hot brides!!)

We had a great weekend. I am lucky to have met such wonderful girls at college. Hard to believe that we have known each other almost 9 years!

Thanksgiving was awesome. We had 3 in one day this year! For the last couple of years, Matt and I head to Algona the day before Thanksgiving and celebrate with an early Thanksgiving Lunch with the Kajewski's. I then nap and Matt drives us to Holstein and we eat again. This year we had a 3rd meal at 11 o'clock at night. Okay, so the third one was voluntary. But by that time I felt it was our American Duty to eat leftovers.

Look what we found in the fridge.. Lukee Boy Joseph

Clare graced us with her presence for Thanks day

Jamie and Lukee Boy (this pic is funny)

Clare and I may have also taught all the kids a bad habit at Thanksgiving, and that is that the best food comes in compressed forms.... Cheez Wiz, Gogurt, and Redi-Whip..

Also Matt and I are obsessed with the show, "The Walking Dead" on AMC. Luckily a few of our family members are into it also. If you are not watching this show, you are a loser. It is the best. When Matt said we were going to start watching a show about Zombies I was not into it. I mean, our DVR is packed and I just didn't know if we could fit in another weekly hour long drama, but I made the adjustment. Now I am all into it. I am ready for Zombies. See, you think you can get away from them, they move all slow and methodical, but in a group they are crazy! And you are so confused watching the show. Did Zombies only take over Atlanta, or Georgia, or just the South, because that I could understand (no offense Southern Young Sisters), but then you realize these Zombies are crazy and they are everywhere! So in honor of the Pilgrims and Indians, we did our best Zombie impressions.

Saturday I headed to Sioux City to help Donna "Bubba" Hanson party it up for her Bachelorette Party. We had a blast. Em. S. made it down from Sioux Falls with Jami, and Vollmar and I in one hotel room was dangerous... There was a lot of giggling, security only stopped at our room once, and bad dancing.

The Mama Em's

Jami and Mo

Also, I realize some of you have noticed our home looks different. Yes, Matt and I have moved, again. We are now in Omaha and have been for a few months. I haven't blogged about it because it has been a complicated situation. Nothing bad or anything, we are happy and healthy, just logistical issues and job issues, and it may not yet be long-term/permanent, so I just side-stepped it. But we are enjoying the Big O! Minus all the dumb Husker fans, there is nothing we enjoy more than working our way through a city one Restaurant at a time! I will fill in the details on this later, but there still may be a move in our near future, and I want to see how that turns out..oh the saga of the Kajewski's...to be continued...

You thought this was a big blog! Wait for the next one.. That is right Blogger's, the annual Matt and Mo decorating the tree post is coming up.. And this year we added a wreath! WHAT THE WHAT! To be coming in a few days...

I am done with the ominous continuances for one post... or am I??? Okay really this time. So now you see that over the last couple weeks I have worn 27 dresses, gained 27 lbs, and need a 27 Step Program...for everything.

Hawks, Halloween, and Hibernating

Bloggers, what was up with the Hawks this last weekend???? Seriously. Northwestern is like some jerkface bully we just cannot beat. The Kajewski house was not happy on Saturday. But I thought I would look back on happier Hawk Times..

A few weeks ago Matt and I had the opportunity to attend the Michigan State game. Sara and Nick Jensen had extra tickets and we jumped at the tickets and at noon on the Friday before I was begging Matt to let us go. I actually had to convince my routine-liking husband to go at the last minute. I told him that one day we will not be able to go to Iowa City at the last minute because we will have snot-nosed kids running around. Remembering that this is our future, he said be ready in an hour.. We headed to Amana Friday and stayed with Matt's Grandma Betty who was kind enough to let us crash at the last minute. The next morning we were up early and ready to Rock Out with our Hawks Out!

Matt and his Friend Shannon... Tailgating Champs!

Matt and I at the game

It was such a great game! We were both very nervous heading into the Stadium and it could not have been any better. We had great seats and saw a great game. We jumped up to cheer for so many great plays, particularly that sweet interception and lateral, that Matt had bruises on the back of his legs. We drove back that night and thus had an exhausting weekend, but it was so worth it!

We also carved some pumpkins for the trick or treating, well I should say Matt. This was his excuse to get out of cleaning.

We also were lucky enough to have our fist snow of the season. (Sarcasm). It was nice to sit at home on Friday and watch the snow, but I made sure Matt did all the scooping on Saturday. Well when I went out to do my supervisory inspection, this is what I saw....

We might have to work on his technique...

This week I turn 27 bloggers. When the hell did that happen?!!?!? I am not very happy about it. 26 was fine. It was still like hey, just chilling in my mid twenties don't mind me.. Now it is like, 27, time to start checking out the weekend wear at Eddie Bauer and LL Bean... ew... gross.. no thank you. I just have not aged past 21/22 in my head, so I get kind of peeved when I am reminded I am an adult. So I am going to Slut 21 (Forever 21) and getting myself something cheap and hot for my birthday. And no I am not talking about frozen pizza, though I might have that too...
Have a Good week bloggers!

Fall-A-Palooza

I thought the fall would allow us to slow down, but that is yet to be the case. The end of September I attended one of my good high school friend's wedding. Darci Vohs Boling got married in KC. If I haven't reiterated it before, I will again, I love, LOVE, LOVE Kansas City! It is just a nice town. We had a blast. There was lots of food, lots of dancing, and we may have partied until 4... So basically I felt perimenopausal the next day due to the hot flashes and mood swings from my hangover. Now I understand my mother's anger these past few years...

Em, Me, the Beautiful Bride, Donna, and Jami

Matt and I also survived our 1st year of Marriage. As my friend Lou Sedaris would say, "Can You Beat That! A whole year of Marriage!" It was a fast and whirl wind of a year. For our first year we headed to our favorite place in the world, the 50613, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Matt and I love that town. We would live there permanently if we could. We stayed at the Historic Black Hawk Hotel, which is where we got engaged. If you are ever in the area, that is the place to stay. They have a great little Martini Bar next door. There is also a great sushi/deli connected to it that we had lunch at. We spent two days eating, drinking, and partying our way through our college years. Even though we graduated from UNI 4 years apart, it is like we never left to either one of us. We even ended our last night with drunk pizza ordering... It is amazing how after weeks, months, or years, I still know the number to Papa Johns in the CF..(319-277-7722). Classic.

Matt got me some beautiful jewelry from John Wind. This was one of Oprah's favorite things a few years ago and I have seen it in some boutiques and may have subtly hinted (or not so subtly hinted) that I would really like a necklace from JW. Since Matt is the best gift giver in the world (seriously I am spoiled) I got it. I would describe it as kind of a charm bracelet/necklace stuff. I usually hate that charmy, kitchy, mommyish, ABC Teacher Sweaters Crap, but this is different. I LOVES IT.. Vintagey and not cheesy.. If it is good enough for O and Gayle, it is good enough for me! I got a short and long chain and the initials and other charms. It is basically Fierce. Matt on the other hand got new dress shoes and a Waterford and Polish Ornament for our Christmas Tree. Well, okay those may be more for me too, but he really does love fancy ornaments. Plus we have to start our own family tree, so might as well do it in Style!

We also unfroze the top of our cake and ate the crap out of it. Matt thought he should mark our anniversary with a ritualistic cutting of our cake.

I swear to god we did not plan this. I was just screwing around filming Matt. I was dying laughing. I thought maybe he would say something nice about being married a year or something, but instead he pulled an Indiana Jones while he cut our cake. He's all mine ladies, back off..

Hope Everyone had a great Halloween! I will post pics of our Halloween later this week. Can't wait to see all the adorable Blogger Goblins!

Mo Mo's BACK ALRIGHT!!!

So I kind of ripped off the Backstreet boys circa 2000... but I have broken my own blogger vows... Our summer was crazy, our fall is worse, who would have guessed I would be looking forward to winter to possibly slow down... But I will fill you all in on our summer happenings and chaos, and no it does not involve having a baby, I have to wean myself off corona and coke first.. (diet that is, where is your peoples minds!)

So where should this post start.. I know. Before I post pics and reminisce about the last few months, what the F is up with blogger. I lost my background, I wasted two hours last week trying to fix it and I am getting really aggravated. When I put in the code where it is suppose to go in order to change the background nothing happens?!! So frustrating! Any Tips would be great.

We had some great weekends at the lake and Luke and Lilly are so much fun this year. They both love the water. You ask Lillian if she wants to go to the lake, and in two seconds she reappears in her suit, all LETS GO NOW!!

Lillian and Luke

Lily and Luke Both Love Jem, or as Lily calls her "Jemmers." And like Jem, Luke wants to play fetch with Thaddeus

We also made a a trip back to Algona. I love that town. I tell Matt all the time I would move there in a heartbeat. It is just adorable, everything is nice and they have Hy-Vee, Fareway, a sweet public pool and pizza hut. I mean seriously, what else do you need? (I know pronto... but they do have Kum & Go, does that count?)

We attended The yearly summer celebration called Founder's Day and partied like rockstars..

Matt and I and Jessie and Blaine

Matt even grew back some of his old hair he had so much fun...

One of my best moments of the summer was taking Haily and Nolan (Jessie and Blaine's Kids, Matt's sister) to the pool. I love love love the water. And because Matt is married to me, he now loves the water too. (that's how it works right?) We hit up the deep end with the kids and I found out Nolan didn't know how to dive. So I made sure we fixed that. With a good teacher and an even better student, Nolan was a Diver! He was such a stud! I was glad I could teach him something useful, because earlier in the day we golfed and I may have taught him ways to use the F word in ways he couldn't even imagine... Aunt of the year! (sidenote: I was killing on the course that day, beating Matt by 3 strokes after 5 holes and I blew it, Big time!)

And we are progressing...

On to Nobles Wedding... my neighbor Matt got married on a hot, hot, hot day in July!! It was a killer party and I was able to meet up with my Holstein Girls.

Me, Mama Em, Mama D and Blenner

The best part of the wedding had to be getting the Whitmer to do the Humpty Dance.. let me rephrase that.. Jamie loves the Humpty Dance. Any wedding, party, DJ, or Jock Jams IV CD that has the Humpty Dance on it, the Whitmer will move chairs, old people, and babies to clear dancing space... For those of you who have not gotten to see this in person Enjoy...

Matt and I also got to play in a golf tournament in Holstein and we dominated. We got 2nd in the First Flight, I think anyway? We figured out take my Drive, cause it is straight and down the middle, Matt puts it on the green, and I putt that shiz for dough... $50.00 to be exact. And after paying our bar tab I walked away with $8.00.. and that my friends is what I call success!

The Whitmers by their "Hole"

Matt and Jamie being "Men", that is what Matt calls it...

So now that I have had a major blowout blog post, I hope you will all forgive me. I still have things to post about, and I wanted to save some of them... Plus I want to watch my DVR of Teen Mom before I get too tired... That damn Amber needs to give Gary a break.. what a biz.. so basically I am back bloggers. I just really wish someone could fix my background :(

Worst Blogger EVER

So Bloggers, I have been the worst blogger ever.. I don't know what happened.. June ended and so did my blogging apparently. And then when I realized towards the end of August that I had some making up to do, I also discovered that I had lost my cord to connect my camera to my computer... SERIOUSLY!! So needless to say I have spent the last month looking for it.. so I promise you I will finally go buy a new cord. I mean seriously, nothing in my life is too pressing, I am in target 4 times a week anyway.. or hopefully it will turn up.. one or the other.. in the meantime please don't cry....like this girl...

Or get mad at me like this kid....

I will be back soon I swear. I have Fourth of July, lake fun, weddings, and Debbie and I at Dave Matthews (which is occurring tomorrow). FYI Debbie asked me what she should wear tomorrow as she thought we would be sitting the whole time. See when we went to Tina we were in the old folks section and had to sit most of the time. I said no mom.. we will be standing..THE WHOLE TIME. This is Dave, he is my boyfriend, he jams, and we will smell like you did in high school because there will be lots of those "funny" cigarettes floating around... So needless to say she better have her comfy shoes on!

I will catch up soon.. I swear!! love to my bloggers!

P.S. please don't kick me out of blogging.. I will be back with a vengeance!

Graduation, Gay Pride, and Golfing...

Now that is a title for a post.. Graduation, Gay Pride, and Golfing. I bet you are all thinking, "What the hell is this post about?!!" A LOT!! Well this last weekend was jam packed for the Kajewskis. All of Matt's family was up so that we could attend his cousin Taylor's graduation party in Stillwater on Saturday. We had a great time and made pizzas and watched the world cup, and then spent the afternoon and evening celebrating with the graduate.

Grandma Betty with all her grandkids!!

Sunday morning I headed into the city to meet up with a couple of my girlfriends to attend the Gay Pride Parade in Minneapolis. It was FABULOUS!! Renee, being the only native Twin Cities girl had gone years ago, but Ash and I have never been. I also thought it would be fun to drag along my friend Elisabeth from work. Lets just say poor Republican Conservative Elisabeth was in Hippie, Peace, Love, and Understanding -ville.. This is Ray, Ash, and I's idea of a Holy Sunday Morning. We all had fun, even Elisabeth.(well I think anyway). There was great music, great costumes, lots of dancing, and ticker tape and glitter!! It was a gay man/every girl's dream! It always makes me happy to see people come together to celebrate individuality, family, equality, and love.

One of my favorite signs from the North Iowa PFLAG Group (Parents, Family & Friends of Lesbians and Gays)

Drag Queens

Lots and Lots of Ticker Tape and Glitter!!

There was one video I took that may be a little bit blog inappropriate, but may need to be circulated via email.. Lets just say picture a slightly overweight man in his late 50's, in whitey tighties, just dancing down Main Street.. and I mean DANCING! Beyonce, Booty-Shaking, Rhianna "We're Gonna Run This Town Tonight" Dancing! So needless to say it was a great Sunday Morning.

Sunday afternoon Matt and I hit the Hammond Links. Hammond is the small town right next to Baldwin. It is about 4 miles away and has a great little golf course that we joined for the summer. I haven't been able to play steadily since high school and I am getting my game back. Matt loves his golf.. he LOVES LOVES it.. If I hear one more time that that "he really figured it out this time," and that this is the round he is going to shoot only 4 over, I might start hitting myself in the head.. Anyone who is married to a golfer, or knows a golfer, knows what I am talking about. I just don't ever see women golfers act like men. I just like to have fun and try to get less than 7's, isn't that everyone's goal?

Setting the Shot

Matt's Instructional

Matt is trying to show the bloggers how he won the longest drive contest in Hammond, and no the ball did not go 310 yards as he is claiming, but he has it all figured out..

Matt doing the Color Talk for the LPGA aka Maureen's drive

So we are enjoying summer and heading to the lake this weekend. I didn't get to go to the lake for the 4th last year due to that whole Bar thing, but I am making up for this year. I am sure there will be lots of golfing, boating, fireworks, and food! Happy 4th of July Bloggers!
