Did you hear about the Kajewski's??

Well here is the story of how from December 8th we realized we were moving to Baldwin, Wisconsin. After Thanksgiving I was officially frustrated with job searching.I took the Iowa bar because we want to go back to Iowa at some point. By passing the Iowa bar I can also waive into Nebraska, plus if I got a 145 on the MBE I could waive into Minnesota. We thought this was the best shot, and opened up the most possibilities. Well I got a 144 on the MBE and Minnesota wasn't having it on letting me waive... And so the search continued. But the problem was not only my searching, but Matt's searching. Matt's job is going well and he loves it. Plus it was looking like it was going to take a little while longer for him to transfer locations.. so thinking of new solution was my goal!

And so I found a job 75 miles east of the cities. But this required a new solution. We needed to live in between to make it work. And Thus came Baldwin, Wisconsin. See it is the exact half-way point between our places of employment. We each have about a 40 minute drive to work. Matt's may be a little longer because he is driving to the city, and mine is exactly 40 minutes from door to door. So the commute isn't ideal, but we will do it until we go crazy we guess!

With the first week done it was exhausting. It is weird going from Matt being the one working all the time and me being little susie homemaker. Now I am the one working 60 hour weeks, with traveling twice a week and commuting, but I told myself it is a challenge and I will do it until I burst.

Merging the Van...Look at that determination!

So Matt and I Moved last Wednesday, and let me tell you...it was a blast(sarcasm). See Matt has moved every year he was in Saint Paul to a different location, so I have helped him move plenty of times before. Except usually there is a male friend to help with the heavy stuff. Well not this time, everyone was busy or gone. So that left Matt and I to do it ourselves. Let's just say there was a lot of me saying, " I can't do it, It's too heavy, It's cold, I'm hungry, my forearms are burning, I'm tired, Let's just sleep in the car!" Meanwhile Matt did most of the heavy lifting, grunting, sighing, and told me, "Come on Maureen only two more big things, the faster we go the faster it's done, put on an extra pair of pants and you won't be cold, stop whining, If you help me we can get Mexican after this!" (that made me hit it into high gear!!)

We got all moved, and today we are finally settled. We are living in a small split town home. We have a garage (score!!), two bedrooms, and everything is bigger than our old place, though that was not hard... Living in a town of 3000 is taking a little adjustment. We are both from small towns, so we know how it goes. What you forget is that when you grow up in a small town everyone knows you from birth, Where now we are the outsiders. Every where we have gone has been a 5-10 minute conversation and they all ask, "Who are we, what do we do, do we have kids, do we like the Vikings or Packers, where are we from, is that your real hair color, where did you get those fancy reusable grocery bags... Over and Over.. I am sure we were the talk of the town at the local watering holes but it is fine with us.. I mean our neighbor came outside to greet us in the freezing cold and had a 25 minute conversation with us, and told us way too much information...oh small towns got to love them...

Well I know our families wanted to see the place. And Matt and I made some videos to show the before and after. I am glued to HGTV many a night and Matt makes fun.. though I have seen him getting caught up in House Hunters a couple times... So here are two videos.. one before and one after.. both are a couple minutes long but if you are in for a laugh and have the time to enjoy, please do... Matt really thinks he is so clever... and no this was not rehearsed....he is really that dorky all on his own..I love him so..

It felt like I was watching Suzie Whang providing commentary! I am an avid House Hunters and House Hunters International fan! Glad to see someone else is as well. First of all, don't you just hate all of those people who say they can't get a house because it doesn't have a double vanity! and those women who always say here's my closet..where are you going to put your clothes honey?? Oops! The apartment is fabulous!! Once again tired of a niece of mine having nicer furniture than I do after twenty plus years of a career and marriage!!%$#$#% You two are too funny!!

Gotta love those small towns...thats why we ventured out to the country so no one knows what the heck we are doing and when we leave! Can't wait to see and hear more stories from you two!
