Now on to the Holiday... We had a big Christmas! I went home the weekend before Christmas, because I knew I would be starting a new job and getting busy. Matt came Tuesday in anticipation of the storm, and what a storm it was! Dad, Matt, and Riley scoped, Snow Blowed, and used the Rhino for three straight mornings to clear snow.. There was so much!
Kajewski's
Matt and Old Man Lukee Boy (as Matt Calls him) We love Lukee Boy's old man faces that he makes.. he is like Benjamin Button... yelling at kids for turning around in his driveway and stuff) WE LOVE YOU LUKEE BOY!!
Our usual Christmas tradition is that we head to Mass in Ida Grove at 4 and have dinner and gifts after. Well, we allowed Dad to convince us to attempt to go to IG. We couldn't see on Main Street, and he finally turned around on 59 and instead we attended Mass at 10 in Holstein. I love Christmas Eve Mass, the music, the snow, everyone looks good.. but late Christmas Eve Mass was even better because it basically was church with a two-drink minimum. (What it was Christmas Eve!!) We had our usual Christmas Eve Dinner; Beef Tenderloin, Crab Legs, Home-made Twice-baked potatoes, beans green, scalloped corn...and what am I forgetting.. Oh Cocktails! I love Christmas Eve dinner, it is so yummy... That Debbie and T.C. put on a mean feast. I will be repeating that menu when Matt and I are old enough to have our own Xmas Eve. Until that time arrives, I will let the old people do the work.
Debbie sets a mean table... So Pretty!
Lillian and Lukee Boy enjoyed Christmas. Lilly danced to all the Christmas music, and started to speak in tongues when she received her shopping cart from Queenie and Thaddeus. Don't mind Jamie's behind in the video, but try listening to Lillian. She is so excited she was speaking gibberish and chasing her tail like a puppy!
Christmas Day we usually head to Sioux City but stayed home due to the snow. We played with all of our new toys, Clare and I went sledding behind the Rhino, and Debbie made some mean Stuffed Shells, again..so good! We also had a "Baby It's Cold Outside Contest." After being snowed in for the third day you get pretty bored. So we had a sing off between mom and dad and Matt and I on the Christmas Classic, Baby It's Cold Outside. I am totally posting this video, and it will probably get me disinherited, but it is a compliment to my padres coolness. They are pretty fun and this video is proof of one of the many swinging times we have at the Cosgrove home. Matt and I were funny, but mom and dad totally won. Plus I am not posting ours because I look like 300lbs due to all of the holiday food, but mom and dad put Dean Martin to shame! If you think this is good, you should see them do Babs and Diamond on "You Don't Bring Me Flowers," Now that is a classic..(Quality kind of stinks, but I had it on the wrong setting, but still comical)
Saturday the roads were okay for us to head to Algona. It took us about an hour longer, but we had to break free of Holstein. We had an equally fabulous time at the Kajewski Christmas. More good food, great gifts, and fun had by all. Matt and I took the kids to look at Christmas Lights, and we found some good ones, but we were a little disappointed in Algona.. they really need to step it up..
Dayne, Nolan, Hailey, and Abrym getting ready to go look at lights
Oh and don't worry, the hulk hands were a hit! I know that when I have children I am totally going to get payback. But the boys had a blast with them. And don't worry no children or animals were harmed in the process of filming this video...
All in all it was a great Christmas. I swear I gained back all the law school weight I got off of me, thank you holidays! We got sweet gifts, specifically a humidifier, and I actually enjoyed the snow. I hope you all enjoyed the videos and here is a picture montage so you can get the full effect of the Cosgrove/Kajewski Christmas Extravaganza.

Congrats on getting a job Mo! I can't wait to hear more about it. I'm always impressed with the formal meals your mom can create. Travis doesn't understand why I want a formal dining room...I think I'll just have Deb explain!
YAY!!! Congrats on the job!! Loved ready your post!! Glad you were able to get home and be with your family for the holiday!
Loved the post! And CONGRATS! I'm sure that is a huge relief! Quincy just got a Menards so we are familiar with that store....although I really don't think they needed one since Lowe's and Home Depot are right across from each other! Your parents crack me up and you mom and Michale do put on a great Christmas Feast with all the great table setting! :) Can't wait for the move post.....looks like we are putting off WI trip this summer and now headed to upper state NY for my cousin Joe's wedding who lives in Minnepolis!
Mo, love the videos and pics! It was great to see you and the Holstein Cosgrove clan this xmas. Good luck with the move and new job, keep us posted - pun intended!
OK, so I just went to do the word verification below and it was so fitting for you . . . "chesties" ha ha ;)
I still have no idea what Lillian was saying when she opened the grocery cart? Heck of a post. So happy we missed the Sing off:)
Loved, loved, loved hearing about the Cosgrove, Kajesky(I hope that is right) Whitmer Christmas. What fun!! I am using a computer that does not allow me to view the videos(don't ask). I will have to revisit those in the future. Congrats on the job as well!! Are you not allowed to say the name of the company!! Afraid they might start googling your blog?? Just kidding. have a wonderful time in Wisconsin but please do not become a cheesehead!
Holy heck of a post MO. Congrats on the J-O-B. Always thankful for the entertaining videos. I think everyone had some 'snowed in' time. You Cosgroves made the most of it.
Happy 2010!!
