Other than the weather being the bane of my existence, we have gotten into a decent routine...lots of working, sleeping, and movie watching. We realized this compromise was all worth it when I got my first paycheck. See Matt and I will have been together 5 years this April, and he is the only one who has had a full-time job during that time. Sure I have always done something while I was in school, but my little income covered the drinks, cab rides, gas station goods, powerball tickets, and quizno's.. not exactly raking it in. Because of this Matt has always said that he got my first big girl paycheck to spend anyway he pleases..His dream was to take my first paycheck to the Casino to play Craps (he loves Craps). So when the time came, Matt didn't know what to do with himself....
Does that paycheck have Maureen's name on it?!! what the...
Instead, his car broke down on us on our way back from KC...and that is what my first big girl check paid for.. freaking engine coils or something...great. I might as well get used to it.
So we have had some time for fun. Two weeks ago we went to KC for my Good Friend Anna's wedding. We had a blast! I just love KC. Better weather, lots to do, I think we need to move there. We had a great weekend with all of the UNI crew. It was our one and only marriage btw our guy and girl friends from UNI. Matt went to UNI, but he went when Meghann did, so he still doesn't quite understand cell phones or texting.. But Anna and Tim met our freshmen year, in the dorms, and this wedding rocked. It was all of us from the good ole Dancer Hall days... We had so much fun!

Out in Power Light the Night before
BR: Bride Anna, Liz, Amy, Me
FR: Ash,Bri
My UNI Crew
Kajewski's at the Bash
I just love that picture...Anna was so beautiful..(tim was handsome too!)
I don't have too many pictures from the wedding. Cause ya know how it is. You have a glass of wine, you start talking, and then the night is over, but it was still a great weekend. This weekend I am heading back to the cities to meet up with the Whitmer's and Nemo's. They will be in town so the guys can do continuing ed's... Matt is heading to CF for a boy's night one night..lucky him. So it will be busy..
I am starting a new thing on the blog for 2009. For those of you who know my cousin Katie, she is crazy. She is the mother of 4 young boys, and pregnant with her 5th, and first little girl. Well She does it all. Cleans, cooks, everything's organized, used to run her own business, all with her hair done and lipstick on.. it drives Meghann and I crazy...What also drives us crazy is that the Ecklers go everywhere. I mean this trip, that trip, with kids, with family, no kids.. amtrack nightmares galore.. so we are starting a tally. How many times do the Eckler's travel compared to The Cosgrove's (extended and separate). Now we may have picked an off year because they have a newborn, but Babies don't slow down Ecklers. I mean this is number 5 people!! So here is the deal.. Must be an overnight trip, that's it..So from what I can tell..here is where we stand:
Eckler's: 1 trip to fun City
Kajewski's: 1 trip to Anna's Wedding
Thad Cosgroves: 1 Trip to Omaha to escape Holstein
Whitmer's: 1 pending trip to TC for continuing Ed...
I would appreciate it if Mrs. Eckler would correct me if she wants, I just looked at her blog. Katie's blog is closed for privacy, so if you guys want to see how crazy she really is, she has to let you in.. But seriously.. just when you feel like a worthless wife, mom, sister etc... She will make you feel worse because she is Superwoman.. Damn you eckler.. I am preparing for Bikini season come June, and she will look better even after delivering baby number 5 in April... god she really sucks.. (in a good way) So let the Trip Challenge Tally Begin..who will win?? It's anybody's guess! (Eckler's I'm sure)
Ecklers 1, Whitmer's will be 1, Kajewski's 1, Cosgroves 1

welcome back maureen! we have missed your blogs!!! if you ever have a layover in sioux falls you better call us =) cant wait to see you in a couple weeks for em's reception!!!
Ok first off I think you need to move to KC! That would be a whopping 3 hours from us and in the best state of Mizzourah! :) #2, I feel so blessed that I made a whole 2 paragraphs in your blog! {For those of you interested, our blog has become public again and our address is www.7ecklers.blogspot.com}, we said our traveling would slow up....a little this year because of a newborn...but a massive East Coast trip to my cousins wedding is in the planning for the last week of July...NYC here we come with 10 kids under the age of 10!!!! Glad to finally get updated with you....be sure to check out my blog today...because you will die at what the Eckler's took part in this weekend! Oh....and get use to the break down of vehicles, appliances, etc..it always happens when you think you are getting ahead!
Mo, the entire time I was reading your blog I was telling myself "don't tell her welcome to the sucky life of adults because she has probably already heard it and it is a rude/b*tchy thing to say" so I am not going to say it, although I just kind of did - he he! That is the story of our life (for the past three years and probably a couple more to go). But to be honest, just this morning I told Kevin that I love our vida loca and there is no one else I would rather go through these things with but him - and that was after spending more time out of bed consoling a crying baby last night than in bed sleeping! Things get crazy and life takes these ridiculous turns, but you and Matt will always be there with your larger than life personalities to laugh, cry and hug your way through it. My goodness, what has happened to me this morning, where did all that crap come from???
What Ecklers are public again? Just when I was going private!
Mom wants to count coming to CF
