2009--> 4 Days Down

Ah Bloggers.. I am four days into 2009 and have failed on all resolutions. Get organized..nope...work out...only once....try in school..hasn't started yet....reduce my use of the "F" word and his cousins...not so much, I just love the English language...quit procrastinating..I will do that later...You get the picture.

Well Our Christmas celebrations were fun. Matt and I spent Christmas Eve with my family, Christmas day with the extended Cosgrove's and the Rest of the weekend with the Kajewski's. We got way too many wonderful gifts, ate a lot, and enjoyed our holiday cocktails. When we got back to the city on Sunday we both felt like we were hit by a truck.

I worked a couple of days and headed back home to do some more dress shopping. I have found a couple I like a lot, but I have not had that crying, "This is the Dress!!" moment. I don't really think I am that kind of girl though. I think I am more of a..."God damn I look good," kind of a bride. Matt and I spent New Years apart, due to my need to try and get wedding stuff done. The Iowa game was awesome, and I have spent the last couple of days being lazy. Tomorrow I will head back and try to put my life back together. I am not looking forward to it, but I don't have a choice. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years and now on to 2009!! Enjoy some of the pictures from our Holiday!!

Matt and Mo Christmas

Ah bloggers...I have one test left and I am done. I am just giving up..throwing in the towel..somebody else is going to have to be in the top of the class this semester(Ha Ha). Well Matt and I celebrated "Our" Christmas. We usually get all dressed up and go out to eat and make a night of it, but I just didn't have a break this year.

30 years old and still a little boy..

Matt started a tradition for us, 2 Christmases ago. We can only get things for our Stockings from Walgreens. So that means each of us walks away with lots of candy and personal hygiene products. I told him we have to keep doing this for each other. It gets funnier every year. And when we are old we can just get eachother's shopping list. Why do old people love chain pharmacies? One of my fondest memories of my grandmother was her love of Walgreens.. I think that is the pharmacy I went with her to a lot..The woman really just loved a deal..so Grandma would appreciate our frugal stocking stuffers..

Alright Feet Lotion!! Best Christmas Ever!

Well I got a Waterford ring holder for my rings. Very fancy. Some earrings I picked out at Herberger's (Younkers) that are cool. I also got a Panini Maker and drumroll...Not the Barbie Dream House, but a sweet suitcase. I am guessing Matt is taking me on a trip soon. (I wish)

Earrings...Oooh...Aaaah.... (Oh and I got Bangs..Not sure I like them..oh well)

No Dream House..Maybe next year... But a trip to Europe I hope??

Matt was not that excited with his gifts. He was wondering why I got him so many sweaters until I gave him a picture of the GPS that will be here soon.(The company I ordered it from "misplaced" it.) We never go anywhere that we don't know how to get to..So I hope this thing is useful...

You could be a little more appreciative! (He is kidding..he just thinks posing is hilarious)

Now he likes Christmas..GPS is in the mail!

Well I hope everyone has a good Christmas. I am so excited for Santa!! Before I head home I am going to Des Moines this weekend to meet some girlfriends and to "celebrate". We are also going to go Wedding dress shopping so I will let ya know if I find anything cool. It is going to be hard to find a dress that makes me look 20lbs thinner. Why do brides wear white?? Grr... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Thanksgiving

Well hello Bloggers..I would like you all to know that I quit working on my paper for school to post..I know my priorities. Well Thanksgiving break was once again a nice one. Wednesday Matt and I headed to Algona. We went out with friends Wednesday and had Thanksgiving Thursday morning with the Kajewski's. We then drove to Holstein and did a second Thanksgiving with my family. We realize we are lucky our parents live about an hour and 45 minutes apart. Not too bad. We realized that is the way to do Thanksgiving. Now we just have to figure out how we get out of helping at either house...We almost had it this year..I am sure we will have it perfected by next Thanksgiving...

Matt, Clare, and Jamie..Matt needs two drinks to be with the Cosgroves..jk he is holding mine..

Clare and her mini look-a-like Lillian

Cosgrove Thanksgiving was a also fun. Friday Matt spent the day fixing computers, dvd, dvr players...My parents are still kind of 1998..they can't quite handle the internets yet.. Friday night we attended the blogger party at Meghann's. It was funny to see all of the little ones just chillin together baby style...

Quinn, Lillian, Addison and Taylor...how freaking cute are they? Thank god I don't have to get up early with any of them...

Well Matt and I came back today and I worked on my paper a bit. We then decided to put up our little Christmas tree we got last year. It is nothing fancy but we like it. Matt is a world class gift buyer. I feel bad for him that he dates me, because since I have been in law school my Christmas shopping has to be done in about one hour, 3 days before Christmas... Well my presents from Matt are all wrapped and ready to go and one of them is huge. It is like the size of the Barbie Dream house and I have no idea what it is..I actually hope it is the Dream house because I have wanted that since 4th grade..Well I guess I have to wait till Christmas to find out..

Quarter Century and Iowa vs. MN

Well hey bloggers..sorry for my lax in blogging. This is a really crappy time of year for me, school...school...and more crappy school. I have still found some time to squeeze in fun. Two weekends ago Matt and I went over to Jamie and McCain's for a fun night. Josh, Kelly, and Brooklyn were up because they were leaving for Disney World the next day. I was jealous. Anyway we had a game night and ate some pizza and cake for my birthday. It was fun.. We played Scattergories and had boys vs girls and then couples. Matt and I won in the couples rounds..We are so smart.. But I did learn that Matt is super mean when it is boys vs. girls teams..Some of his comebacks were quite quick...

Brooklyn and I a little excited about the cake...

McCain, Matt, and Josh with their game faces on..

Now last weekend the Holstein Cosgroves and Shepard's came up for the Cosgrove tradition of attending the Iowa/MN game. We had a lot of fun. Ate lots of food, and a couple of us had a few too many cocktails, and it was a blow-out! 55-0!! Now that is awesome!!!

Well we usually try to take our Christmas card picture at an Iowa game. We attempted some pictures but I don't think any of them really turned out...Either Lilly isn't paying attention, Or Dad and Jamie are blocked..oh well. Maybe we should do a Thanksgiving theme this year... Well everyone have a good Thanksgiving.. Hopefully I will see some of you Bloggers at Meghann's Blogger party..I will be childless, and I will also be ready to have a good time!! It is my last fun night until after finals are over..Oh well C'est la vie!!

Lilly What are you looking at? Where is Jamie??

Matt Put a Ring On It

If you have listed to the radio lately you have heard Beyonce's "Put a Ring on It." Meaning if you want the girl give her a ring. Well Matt thinks he is funny because he walks around singing, "I liked it so I put a ring on it.." No that funny. But what is funny is this video I saw of this guy doing Beyonce's dance in the video. It is so good!! Since it is that time of year where I get no sleep and become delirious from the work I have to do, I like to watch this video because it is awesome and makes me laugh. So I am posting it, and if you are all lucky you may get a video of one of my delirious final modes and you can see me do my version of the guy impersonating Beyonce...minus his dance outfit...I gotta hide some stuff..

Going to The Chapel....

Big News!!! Matt and I are GETTING MARRIED!! (and the crowd goes wild!!) I know it is a bummer for all my other gentlemen suitors, but I think I found mine.

The Proposal....

Well Matt and I had been trying to get back to Cedar Falls (Where we met) forever, and I kept changing the weekend due to school. Well we finally decided to go this Saturday. We stayed at the historic Black Hawk Hotel. It has operated as a hotel since the 1860's in Cedar Falls...Very cool..Well we got there and ate lunch. Clare and I then went shopping while Matt met up with some friends to watch the Iowa game. Later we were getting ready and Matt was helping me put on a watch he got me a couple of years ago. He asked me if there was anything else that I wanted to wear. I said no, grabbed my purse and starting walking away, and he goes "Are you sure?" and next thing I knew he was down on one knee..And telling me all that gushy Love stuff..and of course my response was "YOUR REALLY DOING THIS AREN'T YOU!!" And that was it!! It was better than I could have imagined..

Right After...still a little teary-eyed...

At Dinner..

We then called our families and went out to eat at our favorite restaurant, Bourbon Street. After that we did what we did best and celebrated with some bar hoping. We went back to the bar that we met at..I figured I will tell that story too...SO..

I met Matt in April of my Junior year of College. My best friend from college Liz Ford begged me to come out with her and her high school friends one Saturday night. Well I didn't want to, as I remember I was working on a paper and we had of course gone out the previous two nights (Liz and I lived our Jr. Year up well..those stories are better left untold) Anyway..I realized Liz just really needed me to drive her and her HS friends..because they were incapable..So I was a good friend and went..

Well I got there and decided I would play catch-up and so I sat at the bar and started playing with the Mega-Touch machine..Ya know the game with the half-naked women and you have to figure out what is wrong with the picture..We have all played it...Well just so happens Matt came to that bar to meet some friends who had been out all day at a golf outing and he just got back from meeting his parents for dinner..He sat down next to me and when I ran out of quarters he gave me a couple and then we started talking and spent the next 4 hours in our own little world... We realized that we were basically the same person..with all the same interests and passions, plus we disliked all the same people...jk...(well actually not kidding)

Matt walked me home 25 blocks that night..(I know so unsafe..don't worry It was not a habit of mine to walk home with strange guys, just this strange guy)..And Matt loves to tell everyone that when we got to my door and when he went to kiss me goodnight, I of course got bossy and told him not to get any ideas because he wasn't staying...Haha..

Well we got to spend a month together..He graduated from Graduate School that May and headed to St. Louis and I headed to NY to spend the summer with Darcy and Micheal..We kept in touch and when I came back in the fall he came and visited a few times to see if it would work, and work it did!! Matt then moved to MN when I got into Law School...So it has been a good 3 1/2 year ride...Just a random night, and a random meeting...Like I told my friends..Who would have thought I would marry the guy from Berks...Weird...The universe is tricky..

Where it all began...

Well the ring is gorgeous!! Matt and I both have a love of all things historical. So my ring is an old piece. It is all original and made between 1908-1910. It is a European Cut, which is a cut they don't make anymore. It would be like today's brilliant cut, but back then it was the bees knees..It is in a platinum setting and it is awesome. I like to think it was owned by some mistress of a railroad baron...but we have no idea...We just keep making up stories.. I just can't believe that people get rid of their mother's rings? Who would do such a thing? But I guess it worked out well for me..

The Bling!!

Another View..

And another..I need a manicure to show this off!!

Well here are some pictures of it.. Well no dates or anything..we are just enjoying our time now...But don't worry I will keep all you bloggers updated on the wedding plans!!

Halloween!!!

Linds, Leah, Me and Ash

Hello All!! Big weekend... Matt and I went to our yearly law school Halloween Party. It was a blast. Matt chose our costumes this year. He loves Will Ferrell.. (like all 12 year olds) and so he wanted to be Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights, so I was Ricky's "Smoking Hot Wife Carley." I played the part well. If you know Matt and I you know we aren't really Nascar Fans...we are more MSNBC, NPR, HBO, Big 10 crowd... but we do love Ricky Bobby..Well Enjoy some of the pictures..We had lots of good ones..Jesus, the Pope, The Geico Cavemen, Edward Scissorhands..all sorts... Hope everyone had a good Halloween!!
