The Proposal....
Well Matt and I had been trying to get back to Cedar Falls (Where we met) forever, and I kept changing the weekend due to school. Well we finally decided to go this Saturday. We stayed at the historic Black Hawk Hotel. It has operated as a hotel since the 1860's in Cedar Falls...Very cool..Well we got there and ate lunch. Clare and I then went shopping while Matt met up with some friends to watch the Iowa game. Later we were getting ready and Matt was helping me put on a watch he got me a couple of years ago. He asked me if there was anything else that I wanted to wear. I said no, grabbed my purse and starting walking away, and he goes "Are you sure?" and next thing I knew he was down on one knee..And telling me all that gushy Love stuff..and of course my response was "YOUR REALLY DOING THIS AREN'T YOU!!" And that was it!! It was better than I could have imagined..
Right After...still a little teary-eyed...
At Dinner..
We then called our families and went out to eat at our favorite restaurant, Bourbon Street. After that we did what we did best and celebrated with some bar hoping. We went back to the bar that we met at..I figured I will tell that story too...SO..
I met Matt in April of my Junior year of College. My best friend from college Liz Ford begged me to come out with her and her high school friends one Saturday night. Well I didn't want to, as I remember I was working on a paper and we had of course gone out the previous two nights (Liz and I lived our Jr. Year up well..those stories are better left untold) Anyway..I realized Liz just really needed me to drive her and her HS friends..because they were incapable..So I was a good friend and went..
Well I got there and decided I would play catch-up and so I sat at the bar and started playing with the Mega-Touch machine..Ya know the game with the half-naked women and you have to figure out what is wrong with the picture..We have all played it...Well just so happens Matt came to that bar to meet some friends who had been out all day at a golf outing and he just got back from meeting his parents for dinner..He sat down next to me and when I ran out of quarters he gave me a couple and then we started talking and spent the next 4 hours in our own little world... We realized that we were basically the same person..with all the same interests and passions, plus we disliked all the same people...jk...(well actually not kidding)
Matt walked me home 25 blocks that night..(I know so unsafe..don't worry It was not a habit of mine to walk home with strange guys, just this strange guy)..And Matt loves to tell everyone that when we got to my door and when he went to kiss me goodnight, I of course got bossy and told him not to get any ideas because he wasn't staying...Haha..
Well we got to spend a month together..He graduated from Graduate School that May and headed to St. Louis and I headed to NY to spend the summer with Darcy and Micheal..We kept in touch and when I came back in the fall he came and visited a few times to see if it would work, and work it did!! Matt then moved to MN when I got into Law School...So it has been a good 3 1/2 year ride...Just a random night, and a random meeting...Like I told my friends..Who would have thought I would marry the guy from Berks...Weird...The universe is tricky..
Where it all began...
Well the ring is gorgeous!! Matt and I both have a love of all things historical. So my ring is an old piece. It is all original and made between 1908-1910. It is a European Cut, which is a cut they don't make anymore. It would be like today's brilliant cut, but back then it was the bees knees..It is in a platinum setting and it is awesome. I like to think it was owned by some mistress of a railroad baron...but we have no idea...We just keep making up stories.. I just can't believe that people get rid of their mother's rings? Who would do such a thing? But I guess it worked out well for me..
The Bling!!
Another View..
And another..I need a manicure to show this off!!
Well here are some pictures of it.. Well no dates or anything..we are just enjoying our time now...But don't worry I will keep all you bloggers updated on the wedding plans!!

Congratulations Mo!! Gotta love wild Cosgrove weddings! Awesome ring, so beautiful. Matt's a lucky guy.
Congratulations! You look so happy! And so does Matt! Well he should be, he's marring you! Loved the stories. I remember you telling the "how we met" story when you were here but I had forgotten it. That is really weird but in a great way. God works in mysterious ways. When it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Can't wait for the wedding. Whenever you have it, we'll figure out how to get there somehow.
So I guess the day has come when my photography skills will be called upon?
So excited for you guys!
HOLY CRAP!!! I am SO HAPPY for you both. I love him to pieces and of course you know I adore you!!! The Lewis family sends their love and congratulations and we will be sure to make it up for the wedding . . . unless of course you love the idea of a Charleston wedding!
Maureen, in my excitement I forgot to tell you how great your ring is . . . he did such a wonderful job - did he do it by himself??? Your dad is too funny . . . "vegas", I offered to take the money and run to my dad and he said no, so Cheri and I made him pay by expanding his budget!
Your Dad has the right Idea. Then I can get married as I envisioned it my whole life, by an Elvis Impersonating Priest. My whole life.
Congrats! I was there when you called Meghann to tell her, she had to go to the bathroom to talk but we all knew by the smile on her face!
