Motherhood has F'ed me up. I mean that in a fabulous way. I think I have sat down to update our blog about 37 times in the last few months and haven't gotten anything done. We have had some good moments, and some bad moments, and some new developments in the last few months.. first I will do an update on the fun things that have happened.
We basically spent the month of July locked up in our house. Due to the new baby and the heat. They were both a couple of doozies! In the beginning of August my mom's family had a family reunion in Des Moines for three days. It was a great weekend. I did not enjoy the dragging around an infant and a pump that I could plug in anywhere, but we managed. We had a nice dinner, a picnic in the park, and even a little betting at the horse track. My mom's family doesn't all get together that often because everyone is all over the U.S., so when we do we need to maximize on time, and boy did we!

It was a reunion, so everyone had to have a name tag! | | | | | | | | | | |

It really was a good time! We also got to spend some time at the lake and Jude got to go on his first boat ride! Lilly and Luke, love the lake and the boat and all the fun you can have, I can't wait until Jude is big enough to enjoy it himself.

The months of July and August were fantastic and we got a lot of good family fun time in. I slowly crept out of my new mom fog, and got to enjoy a bit of the summer. Though I am not a fan of a newborn in the summer.. I might need to think about that one next time... It was hard watching people be out and have fun when I couldn't exactly go out for long periods of time, but we did watch a lot of tv, so there was some good!

Looks like fun when the whole crew gets together.
I had a summer and a winter baby. There are pros and cons to both. But the best thing about a summer baby is that you can just put them in a onsie and go. It's hard to get a new baby dressed when their limbs are like wet spagetti noodles.
