Worst Blogger of the Year!!

Ugh.. that is how I feel. I have been looking back at my blog and I blew it this year. I know we have had a busy year, but man, I have still had plenty of couch time, How I haven't blogged more is beyond me. My goal was always at least twice a month, because I know I cannot leave my fans hanging, but apparently, I was all Diva, and was all "I'll blog when I want!" So I guess I need to look through some pictures to see what we have been up to....

We have been traveling most weeks back to visit with Matt's Dad and family, and have been able to attend some of the kids sporting events. We went to Des Moines one weekend and attended a few. After Dayne's Soccer game, I was over it. Everyone else moved to the basketball gym for another game, and more after that. I volunteered to take Baby Whitney and any of the other kids who wanted to go home. MoMo is not a huge fan of attending little kid or big kid sporting events, and I am not afraid to say it out loud. I mean, I can go to one game, a whole day though, I find that a slap in the face to weekend time. Everyone says you will love it when you have kids, but let me tell ya, no I won't. I didn't like it when I did it. Don't get my wrong I loved basketball games and volleyball games. But I want to play one or two, and go home. I HATED all day tournaments, ugh...what a waste of free time... So I showed Whitney a Mo Saturday, College football, movies, naps, and cooking.. Abrym and Nolan came with us and ran around and enjoyed a leisurely afternoon too. I am going to be a great mother some day. I hope Matt is into that stuff, cause I have a feeling I am going to be looking for excuses to leave gyms, soccer fields, tracks, golf meets etc...

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Algona. Usually we do Wednesday night and Thanksgiving lunch at Matt's parents, then drive to Holstein to do dinner, and kill our stomachs. This year we just stayed in Algona, and I will say it was really nice to not travel anywhere! Instead of napping in the car on the way to Holstein, I napped on the couch... A fantastic Turkey Day!

Nolan's position the majority of Thanksgiving. Nolan played playstation all weekend. We thought he was the only one addicted and before I knew it, Matt was in t-shirt and shorts, all greasy playing right along with him, oh boys!

I also turned 28 on November 18, 2011. I know, I don't look a day past 22. This was the first "hard" birthday for me.. F-ing 28! I met Matt when I was 21 1/2. So I have been with him for 7 years, he basically stole my youth. Where the hell did the last 10 years of my life go. I swear I was just 18, shopping for prom dresses, saying I was going to save myself for marriage, and buying a shower caddy for my dorm... well shit, those things all just flew right by!

Take that Steph Dillion... I am entering the cake biz!

Okay, so let me explain this cake. I decided since I slave away making Matt a beautiful cake every year, why not make one for myself. When I was a little girl my mom would make me a chocolate cake with a crystallized chocolate homemade frosting. This was a cake my Grandma Mollie would make and we would devour in Sioux City. So I got the recipe and made it. I remember making it a couple times in High School and that the frosting is tricky. You have to bring it to a boil, then only let it boil for so long, and then put the pot in an inch of cold water and whisk continuously to thicken it up, and then hurry and spread it on the cake before it gets solid. Well I tried to do the middle layer and outside layer all at once. As you can see, I wasn't that successful and it got hard before I could spread it. It looks like a 3 year old made this cake. But I don't care. It was freaking delicious and we ate the whole god damn thing..

Matt and I also decorated the Casa De Kajewski for the Holidays. Matt is good about helping, and we have come up with our own little traditions. We only have a midsize tree, and it is starting to get real full. Every year we go to VonMaur and pick out one Waterford Ball and a Christopher Radko ornament. See, since Waterford is Irish, and Radko is Polish we buy one for each of us. Then in 20 years we will have 40 really fancy ornaments. I love my fancy ornaments and mix them with my regular ones. It will be nice to have a big tree one day to cover them in our Polish and Irish ornaments.

Our Radko addition this year, Roger the Frog (as named by Matt)

Of Course the Kajewski's would have a political ornament

So Pretty

So apparently, that is what we have been up to in the last few months. I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. January to June seems to go slow, but then the Summer, Fall, and end of the year come up so quick! I love Christmas time, and can't wait for the weekend festivities.

Matt trying out his snowshoes at the golf course by our house. My husband, the outdoorsman! This was after a couple good snowstorms in Omaha. Unfortunately it has all melted and we are having a snow-less Christmas :(

I will blog with all of our Christmas festivities sooner than later after we get back from the Holidays, I swear! Merry Christmas Bloggers!!

I just love you. This post was just what I needed to get my day started right. I think that one of our goals for 2012 should be a blogger retreat somewhere with a beach.

Those are some super fancy shoes, Miss Lady. So happy to read the update. I have been abusing the post-dating function on the blog lately... Oh well, as long as it gets there, right?

Merry Christmas!
