Warming up for "Running Down a Dream"
Thursday we headed to the Lake (Yankton), to meet up with UNI's Finest. (aka Hotties of 2006) On the way to Yankton, Matt threw a fit about being too Tom Pettyed-out to drive, so I took over. Well... I got pulled over and got a ticket for going 70 in a 65.. Total BS..I thought 5 over was standard...This is Relevant because on the way home Matt got pulled over on I-35 for going 12 over and got a WARNING!! Seriously, does Matt flirt better than me? Does he wear his skirts shorter?? Matt claims that warning makes his total amount of warnings a "Baker's Dozen," and no tickets.. Not Fair..
Anyway... The weekend was a blast...We got a lot of sun..ate a lot, had some cocktails, and re-lived all the good memories of Dancer Hall. We also did some more "Prune" and "Magic" pictures. Seriously try it, it is too funny..We also ripped off a Vanity Fair regular feature by shouting out situations and then you have to make the appropriate expression.. I can't really publish any of them..but the least offensive one was "Somebody you don't particularly enjoy just died, and you could really care less..(Expression Below)"
"That's really too bad..."
Sucks to be him...
Besides having too much sun the other highlight of the weekend was Me getting in a fight with some WT dad in his tank top at the Marina Patio Bar. It was the girls, Mom, Matt, and I grabbing some drinks and food..Well let's just say there was a little talking like sailors..(I blame being on the water..) At one point I used the really bad one, It was wrong of me I know. Well, Mr. Tank Top yelled at me for swearing in front of his kids..(he was way more offensive in the cut-off) I apologized nicely, that was not cool of me.. I forgot that it was a "family" bar (is there really such a thing??), but he just wouldn't accept it...Well, Matt's rule is that you apologize once nicely and if they don't accept it and they want to keep fighting, then you have every right to tell them to shove it.. So that is what I did..Tankity Tank Top didn't handle it too well..at least it was entertaining..
But it was still a good time... even if we got in a tussle with Cut-offs... Enjoy the Pics..

Too funny! I can just see you being confrontational with a loser in cutoffs and shorts..although I probably would have been the mother who yelled, "For God's sake there are children in the room!" But yes, an apology should have been accepted and left it at that. We've all been wondering what Mo-Mo has been up to. Kids ask about you all the time. Hope we get to see you and everyone next summer. At least that is what we are planning on. Hope all is well. Try not to get into any fights with men at bars-I know it's tempting but we really like your face just the way it is!
Sorry, I apparently posted under Murphy's log in. That last comment is from me!
I would have been the other mother yelling at you! But that's what you get when you deal with WT! We are headed to Lake of the Ozarks this weekend with the kids...hope no profanity is heard! Ha!
tankity tank top....i'm putting that in the vocabulary arsenal. this blog was everything i enjoy about your writing. seriously. a sweet little donut to stick in my pocket all day long and nibble on when i need a pick-me-up.
Yes... no disappointment today! Thanks for blogging, blog-princess.
LOVE the story about your throwdown at the bar. When Taylor was tini-tiny we went downtown for a music festival and I wanted to grab a beer at my friend's bar. Chris was pretty uneasy about having a newborn in the bar, but I was all, Dude, it's a restaurant too. So that makes it okay. Plus I had been the DD for the past ten months. Mommy needs a tottie.
Thanks again for the update!
Maureen, thanks for the update! I await your little pearls of knowledge and experience to be posted here. I laugh too hard at your comments and pictures. When are you just going to give in and start writing for Cosmo?
(Now, if we could just get your sister to update we'd be set!)
