Des Moines

Well Matt and I headed to Des Moines this weekend to spend some time with his family. His sister Jessie is getting Married the first weekend in April in Breckenridge, and so this weekend there was a girls dinner/shower and a family get together. It was fun. The girls party was Thursday night, and Friday night Matt's siblings went to his Sister's and hung out. We played a Karaoke game on the PS2 where it is a competition and it was a good time. One of the pictures is Matt and his brother Chris singing "Tricky." I don't know if this Or Matt's version of Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" that was the winning performance.

I am not posting any pictures of me because I am not taking good pictures lately. Law School is making me fatter and fatter and I have given up on personal pride.. This week I have a Tax Midterm, why am I taking that class I have no idea. Basically because I am a moron. This coming weekend I am heading back to Des Moines again to meet with my best friends from College so we can get hopped up and make bad decisions, which I can't wait!!! That I am good at... Then I have the following week off for Spring Break and will hang out at home, and then go to Easter in Sioux City with the fam. A break is needed, though that means I have only 8 weeks left in the semester, and only 1 year left of law school. THANK GOD... cause this stuff is overrated.. Hope all is well with everyone else!!!

Oh... I have One Funny Story... Matt and his brother (Chris) were in charge of Jessie and Chris's kids Thursday night and when putting them to bed they asked Matt for some stories. Well the next day the kids ask me if it is true if in High School, Algona (Matt's home town) didn't allow music and dancing because that was "Satan" music. And so Matt and his friends would go dance in corn fields and then they put together the town's first prom, rode around on tractors, and wrote a song about their experience. So I guess Matt played off "Footloose" as his high school.. He then also told them that when he was a kid some rich guys were coming to tear down his parents ( their grandparents) neighborhood to build fancy condo's and so him and his friends banded together to seek out some lost treasure to try and stop that from happening. Matt claimed that he and his friends got in a cat and mouse chase with a family of Robbers, known as "The Fratelli's" and found a hidden Pirate Ship full of treasure.. aka "The Gonnies." So basically Matt is passing off good 80's movies as his life... It was hard to keep back my laughter when they asked me, but I told them it was all true as did everyone else.. They will figure out one day when they watch these movies later in life....

Matt Singing "Tricky"

Matt and his sister Jessie with her two kids Hailey and Nolan: Preparing to watch "Stand by Me." We all kind of forgot that it was rated "R" and all the swearing and dirty talk, but oh well... too good of movie to not let kids watch...We all just tried to tell them to ignore it and enjoy the story.....

Love the post, espeically about the bedtime stories! Heath tells the boys every night about the 3 Little Pigs and adds his own version with the shark eating the wolf at the end. My kids really believe the story goes that way!

Ok we want pics of you! I don't know anyone else, except Matt through your blog! When is the big day! We are still calling Heath the mixologist from Meghann's wedding! I don't think he will ever do that again after that night!
